ABOUT THIS PIECE

The Betty Earrings hold a garden in early bloom — soft yellow and beige blossoms scattered down a slender golden vine, with fine green leaves threading between them.

Each flower is shaped by hand from resin worked while still malleable, then set onto hand-wound copper wire. At 8 cms they read as long earrings, but the resin keeps them light enough to wear from morning haldi through to the last dance.

What makes them work is the restraint in the palette — yellow and gold could easily tip into heavy, but the blossoms are scattered rather than packed, so light travels through the whole length of the drop instead of stopping at the top.
